I would love to beat his *** in basketball every year after all the **** he talked about us this season.

Honest question: If Doug Gottlieb was in a head coaching position, would he put on his suit backwards?

Joking aside, I don't know if that'd be a good fit. I'm sure he's more intelligent than he appears when talking on ESPN or twitter, but I can't imagine it's that large of a gap. Factor in the lack of coaching experience (yes, Hoiberg didn't have any, but he had connections, front office experience in the NBA, and is a great basketball mind) it raises a giant red flag. But... it would work out well for ISU. So go ahead, Purple Kansas.

Well, if Doug Gottlieb takes the job, he won't take players with mental disabilities (Royce White) but he will take players that steal money from other students.

I feel like Fred coaching us is a special circumstance. I don't feel like KSU fans would give Gottlieb the type of rope that we would of given Fred if he struggled out of the gates. It's interesting but I don't see these type of hires happening very often.

I like Gottlieb. He isn't afraid to share an opinion that isn't popular but I don't think he is as contrived as someone like Skip Bayless. I think he is smart and articulate. Would be interesting to see how he does. As long as we whip his ***, I am all for it.

Though, this probably would be a good fit for him if he were to start coaching. He knows the Big XII better than almost anyone.

I also like Doug but he would be WAY over his head coaching in the Big 12. It would be laughable. Let him cut his teeth at a low major first.

Fred's success is going to set a lot of schools up for MASSIVE failure by trying to replicate it. It isn't just any attractive college basketball star turned NBA player with charisma can come in and win. You need something else...I call it the "Mayor" factor.

I agree with almost everything he is saying about coaching in the article. I don't think KSU needs to take that big of a risk with this hire though.
