ISU has had a strong honors program for many years.

I qualified for it as a freshman went to a different school, then transferred and didn't qualify haha

Iowa State has an honors program, but not an honors college and that story drew that distinction. An honors college would be a more immersive experience than the sort of "tacked on" honors program that ISU offers.

I believe both Jischke and Geoffroy wanted to create an honors college during their presidencies but it did not come to pass. I'm not sure if that's on Leath's radar or not.
