had to improve his chances of finding a head coaching position with Fla's win. Asst head coach and defensive line coach should be enough to land a decent job....if there are any. Good luck Mac

I dont think Dan will be a head coach again. I think he is too proud of a man to coach non-bcs school and think he likes Florida too much.

FWIW, the story I heard on the Army and NM jobs was that Mac turned them both down because they weren't willing to pony up as much $$$ as he wanted for good assistants.

Weather or not it's a National Title they are playing for. I'm pretty sure that just coaching along side Urban Meyer is helping him out tremendously. There's no doubt about it.

Mac's total record and getting let go at Iowa State make him a tough sell to alumni. I've said it before, Glenn Mason had a much better record, and can't land a job. It's tough for guys of that age group and record to get a job as a HC. Not fair, but reality.
