I just watched the press conference from Rhoads this morning and he said that Richardson and Rohach will split reps evenly and that Richardson may be the guy to run out onto the field Saturday. Its not an injury issue for the change with Richardson, its simply that he has been ineffective so far. Just in case anyone didn't see the press conference.

    Another comment that bothered me,

"Rhoads, have you told Richardson and how has he handled it that he won't be the starter."
"I haven't said anything to him, I'll let Courtney do that and follow up later."

Maybe not a big deal but it seems like Courtney has full control over the offense and Rhoads does very little with it. Basically, Courtney's decision to pull Richardson.

Doesn't surprise me one bit. Seems like Mess has never been a fan of Richardson. Or maybe (like many fans) he just isn't a fan of who ever is starting...because obviously its THEIR fault!!

And...I just read the other thread that said pretty much what I just wrote.

It does mean something for the QB's confidence. That's a fact.

He's been ineffective, so let's have him split reps!

Two quarterback systems only work if the quarterbacks have defined roles. Pick a quarterback and go with that guy until the season is over.

Tom Herman recruited and absolutely LOVED SBR...He was the reason SBR came to ISU... Mess had nothing to do with the recruitment of Sam and you would be blind if you didn't see that he is not a fan of him... I don't think Sam is too fond of him either.

Frankly, right now we don't have a quarterback on the roster who can lead us to Big XII victories. Richardson/Rohach need to grow up fast, if we are going to see any wins this season. Jared Barnett anyone?

Maybe Sam will transfer next year like Jared. Good work on throwing people under the busses, staff.

if this is the case then why move Rohach to #1 and start this **** storm? Leave the depth chart alone and keep the qb battle internal.

In my opinion Rhoads should have very little say as to what happens on the offensive side of the ball. From what I can tell, he's clearly a defensive guy and should let the OC handle the offense. That being said I don't think Mess is the guy to do that.

Shocking, but I think you are correct. Little did we know it was possible!

The constant shuffling of QBs by this staff is very strange.

Might be able to live with just one strange decision but not all we seem to be confronted with.

I get that, but last year and through-out this year he seems to throw Sam under the bus. There is a lot of finger pointing going on around the entire staff.

Guarantee you Mess would also call out Steele, Jared, or any other QB for lack of execution.
