The first commitment from this weekend’s OV’s!

Bernard “BJ” Carter. Video looks a lot to me like a young Tyler Onyedim.

So 4 DEs in this class? That's interesting. Since we are not targeting many LBs in this class, I wonder if Trey Verdon will switch to strongside LB.
I wonder if they project Carter to move inside. He’s quite a bit heavier than the others in the class that have committed

I think we may only take 1 TE this year, as opposed to the 2 that we normally get each year. We have so much depth there already we only need to take 1. Same thing at safety. We normally land 3 per class, but some of those kids end up leaving because there is too much depth. So 1 less TE and 1 less safety could be why we are loading up on d-linemen.

I think they end up taking at least 2 safeties in the class. Could end up being 3

Verdon a pass rush specialist (they compared him to Will) who may switch to LB. Limbaugh likely a Sam LB. Woleben the only every down rush end. Carter would be the one strongside end

Verdon and Woleben make even more sense both as rush ends if one redshirts and the other doesn’t, since there wasn’t one signed in the ‘24 HS class.

Personally, I thought Trey Verdon looks like he’d make a great Mike linebacker, but the staff hasn’t checked with me. Yet.

Based on highlights, he gets off the line quick and plays the run well. He's a physical mismatch in HS , so he'll have the normal adjustment period in college, but I love his first step and how he wraps up when tackling.
