It’s a position that none of us can accurately evaluate but we don’t let that stop us!

Personally I look forward to the obligatory story in a year of when he got there no one could bench 400, but now everyone can.

Hire a top rated SC coach and bring in more superior athletes ... maybe even Criner could win here?

Hopefully this will help produce road graders on the OL.

Blood Flow restriction research is very mixed from a results standpoint right now, with the majority of the high quality studies suggesting strength is gained most by those who are the weakest. Meaning high level collegiate athletes are less likely to see results with this method.

It has been around since the 70's, if it were really that great of an option for these athletes it would already be implemented more widely.

    Well .... I am an 80's Clone.
Here's another old description but, very accurate .... "our piglets couldn't even get to the sow in that bowl game versus the Irish."
    SOMETHING has to change.

Wonder what happened with Wade. He’s been Campbell’s strength coach for the whole time CMC has been HC at Toledo and ISU. If CMC decided to make a change, that was probably difficult

I'm not sure how to feel about this. I've been underwhelmed in the past by ISU's strength coaches. But I didn't think anything was wrong now.

    I guess onward and upward?

Love a good Criner reference for the youngin's now and then. Some don't know how good they got it.

Your post reminds me that some folks said the ND team looked visibly bigger - wonder if this move is somehow connected.

Well- we can't convert on the ground in short yardage situations, and we can't get to the quarterback without a blitz package. Seems justified to me.

Yet- Pitt hasn't exactly been a juggernaut lately. We need some actual Pitt fans to weigh in.

Before the game started my wife said the same thing, about the ND players being much bigger than ours. No (euphemisms for anything else. ;)) They definitely had some dudes that were bigger than most of their dudes. I felt like some of our guys were on par but overall we were smaller. Maybe this relates to recruiting rankings too? ISU just doesn't get the same type of athlete ND does. Who knows

I was the one that started the Eye Test thread .... or whatever it was called. On a personal note, I have, for many many years, always thought our kids were greatly outsized by the competition. Yet, our heart & discipline in many victories carried the torch. Just my opinion. Not knocking the kids ... they definitely give it their all and commit their bodies to a tremendous amount of stress and punishment.

OK for her to say that before/during a football game, but not while you two are watching a porno.

Andrews is definitely connected to this coaching staff so they know that they're getting. This is a great hire and I liked Wade

This is so true. Of all the forms of offseason happy talk, none are better than S&C offseason happy talk. "The guys have been crushing it in the weight room this year." Uh huh.

Apparently Trever Ryen is (was?) the Asst S&C coach under this guy. Wonder if that is their connection and if he's coming back to Ames as well
