Well at the beginning of the their show he did everything, all of the time while she barked orders and belittled him. As the show progressed he became less and less responsive and separated himself and yes became lazy. That kind of situation takes alot out of you and he should have taken care of it at the beginning instead of letting the kids suffer for it.
