Nader getting some run against his hometown squad in Chicago.

It's a luxury to have him because he really produces a lot of positive plays when he gets in the game.

It could've been a night with a lot of Cyclones scoring but, well, it wasn't.

Hali is being held out due to a sore calf. Hali-oops.

Almost all of the Raptors' coaching staff was forced to miss the game due to COVID protocols so the fill-in coach played 12 guys in the first half (must've been driving Nurse crazy). Matt played 1 minute (rounded) in the first half and didn't accumulate any stats. The Raptors got the win vs. Houston to move to .500.

An injury got Nader back in the rotation and he had solid numbers: 17 MIN, 4 PT, 2-3 FG and 2 REB.

Georges got his two usual shifts - 6 minutes each half. And he didn't attempt a single shot. He had 5 boards and a turnover. The Jazz were tied with Miami mid-way through the 4th but ended up losing.

THT was sort of the 9th man for the Lakers and didn't score much but made some other contributions. His line: 16 MIN, 4 PT, 2-5 FG, 0-1 3PT, 5 REB, 4 AST, 2 BLK, 0 TO and +7. Talen is averaging 17.4 minutes and 6.7 ppg.

Monte had another efficient performance in his 7th start of the season for the Nuggets in their win over OKC (who deserved to lose with the hideous uniforms they were wearing). The Nuggets still have a lot of injuries but welcomed back PJ Dozier (still missing Harris and Millsap). Monte's line: 28 MIN, 13 PT, 6-9 FG, 1-2 3PT, 3 AST, 1 BLK, 0 TO and +27.

Jokic had 13 assists for the Nuggets tonight. Dude is unreal.

The Jazz got back on the winning track tonight vs. Orlando and had a monster half out of Donovan Mitchell. Monte's scoring was equaled by one Mr. Georges Niang who elected to shoot this game. Georges' numbers: 20 MIN, 13 PT, 5-8 FG, 3-5 3PT, 2 REB, 1 AST and +13.

2 of the Minivan's 3s:

Monte actually hit a couple of midrange jumpers last night! It feels like it has been 2 weeks since his automatic shots have fallen. He also made a lot of nice cuts to get some easy lay ups and had numerous nice plays on D verses SGA. Even blocked his shot once. Great bounce back game for him and the entire Nuggets roster.

The Jazz are a blast to watch! It is probably my bias, but I think Niang could average 8-10 coming off the bench for a different team. That 2nd unit is loaded with Clarkson and Ingles (although Ingles is starting for the injured Conley right now).

Tyrese is still sidelined.

Without him, the Kings pulled out a win, late against Detroit to end their losing streak.

This could mean some rotation minutes for Nader today:

I wonder what Matt's status is. Could've been a chance to get some minutes if some of the rotation guys were down but the NBA has strict policies on contact tracing, for good reason.

Georges' "possessions" from last night - some nice finishes including the very last one. It's easy to forget those other skills beyond burying 3s.

While the Raptors are most in "protocols" and Tyrese Haliburton resting his calf, Abdel Nader and Talen Horton-Tucker both got solid minutes last night in easy wins for their teams.

Dario Saric did play for the Suns (16 MIN) but Nader got rotation minutes regardless, as Phoenix crushed the T'woves. Nader's line: 18 MIN, 5 PT, 1-4 FG, 0-2 3PT, 3-3 FT, 1 REB, 1 BLK and 1 TO.

THT
's Lakers pulled away from Golden State in the 1st quarter and ended with a 117-91 win. Talen's line: 16 MIN, 11 PT, 5-12 FG, 0-2 3PT, 1 REB, 3 STL, 1 BLK and 1 TO.

Talen is at 6.9 ppg for the season and is shooting 28% from deep. I'm wondering how that will affect his market value.

1 of his steals and 2 points:

Financially, I think it's fair to say he's further ahead of most of us at 21:

The Jazz got blown out in the 3Q and dropped one to the Pelicans last night, their 2nd loss in the 3 games (though they still have the best record in the NBA). I imagine that Georges ended up matched up against Zion again. Georges' line: 14 MIN, 8 PT, 3-5 FG, 2-4 3PT, 1 REB, 1 TO and 3 PF.

Denver beat the Bulls, 118-112 and Monte was again in the starting lineup and started out missing his first 4 shots. He ended up with this line: 34 MIN, 7 PT, 3-7 FG, 1-2 3PT, 2 REB, 4 AST and 2 TO. The Nuggets moved to 19-15.

A strange and chippy game between Phoenix and the Lakers - lots of injuries for LA, lots of made 3's for the Suns - ended in a 10-point win for Phoenix. Both ex-Cyclones got a lot of run in this game with THT having a big first half and Nader making contributions in the 2nd. Booker was ejected which opened up some more minutes for Dooley.

Nader's line: 23 MIN, 8 PT, 2-5 FG, 2-3 3PT, 2-2 FT, 3 REB, 1 AST, 1 STL, 3 BLK and 2 TO.

Talen Horton-Tucker had the bigger scoring night and got more PT with so many Lakers missing (and Caruso got hurt). His line: 19 MIN, 16 PT, 6-9 FG, 2-5 3PT, 2-2 FT, 3 REB, 3 TO and 5 PF.

Monte again was in the lineup for the beat-up Nuggets and they pulled out an impressive road blow-out vs. the Bucks. Jokic got his 50th triple-double and he, alonig with Murray, carried Denver.

Solid and somewhat quiet night for Monte: 30 MIN, 10 PT, 5-10 FG, 0-2 3PT, 2 REB, 3 AST, 1 STL, 1 BLK (1 and more than Jokic) and 2 TO.

With Monte's 10 added to THT and Nader, Cyclones had 34 points in the NBA on Tuesday - not a bad night. If Toronto's game hadn't been postponed, they probably would have had ... well ... also 34 points :)

This is an interesting short video (5 MIN) of Abdel Nader. I don't know if I've seen him laugh and be so relaxed in an interview. It's for a media outlet in the UAE and he talks about moving from Egypt to the Chicago area etc. His HS coach had to talk his mother into letting him go to practice in HS - she only wanted him to study!
