Baylor was really good tonight. Jones and Wise needed to step up tonight. Got almost nothing offensively from them. Scott and Middleton had nice 2nd halves, BC had a spectacular first half but was taken out of the game early in the 2nd. I thought she struggled by stopping going to the basket. Not a bad showing, will be a good game in Ames. Baylor I think is the team to beat for the Championship this year. They are big, athletic and physical.

I know they are REALLY good - but having the last two fouls on BC were awful - the first a flop and the second she did not extend her arm. She has played COMPLETELY different since that. The reality is that they blow out 90% of the opponents so it doesn't matter. There is also a reason their record in the NCAA is not nearly as good.

Well, we are great in Hilton but only got past the first round once in our last six NCAA appearances (some @ Hilton) so we have no room to comment much.

Baylor is so tough when they turn the screws on defensively. Totally shut us down in the second half.

We had a good 1st quarter even with missing some good look threes. Didn't see many good looks after about halfway through the 2nd quarter.

Baylor double-teamed Carleton in the second half and we looked helpless. Which is frustrating, since we have so much more offensive firepower than last year.

Twas a great game, especially the first half. Thought Carleton was on pace to score 40. I really enjoyed watching the ladies play. As I said in another thread I hope to see you in Ames in February if weather permits. We had a cold spell hit here today (in our standards) and it was 55 at game time, and 48 when we left the center. I wish we could get some of that good snow that ya'll have. Sure would help our wheat and winter pastures out.

Not sure how keen you'd be on the -30 wind chills we are supposed to get the next two nites. Heck I live here and I'm not even looking forward to them. Today's hi was in the 20's with no wind so it seemed pretty nice out.

NWICY the birds fly south when weather gets like that. Have you figured out why yet ? :D

Did Rae Johnson even dress for this game? Can't remember but think she was hobbled by some injury?
I wonder how much was her back, and how much was the matchups. First DNP of the season. BC was the backup PG, and that gave her a break from guarding their 4. Hopefully we will come up with some new wrinkles for the bigger game in Ames. Good fight from Joens, sounds like. And Scott.

Not sure she was even dressed, was looking to see at times if I could see her on the bench.

Any of our CF cub reporters/announcer dudes got any news on this?

Lots of similarities between the Cyclone women at Baylor and Iowa men versus Michigan State last night. Good fight during the first half, but just over-matched in the second.

Thought I saw in the pics from their shoot around that she was in a sweat suit not practice gear so that would make sense.

Biggest difference in this game was our lack of scoring from deep. If we start making those shots then it opens up other things. Have to have a near perfect game on the road to beat Baylor. When Wise goes 0-5 and Joens 0-1 (only ONE????) while Scott only makes 3 of 9...that spells trouble. Camber being in an extended shooting slump doesn't help on the depth front.

Kim has done that in games that they're up 30 or 40 in the final few minutes.

We didn't exactly miss a bunch of open threes. After the 1st quarter, where we missed some good looks early, there were not many good looks. We got off a bunch but they were hurried and contested. Cox knocked one three attempt by Wise like 6 rows into the stands.
