He has the talent and is putting in the work. He is going to do very well. I hope he stays hungry his whole career. It's hard work.
You hear the players talking about new guys who worked their tail off from the moment they walked in the door. Pay attention when you hear them say that.

The players who failed to are obvious.

One guy I heard described in those tones last fall was frosh wideout Brett Eskikdsen, who spent the year on special teams, and made a couple of crucial catches.

Keep an eye out.

Is there much of a problem with guys not working their tails off? That's gotta be a vital scouting point, you'd think.

And, it could be that for this young man or that one, an adjustment to college and athletic life at a P4 isn't automatic?

Not a huge problem. Just, certain pretty talented players pretty obviously didn’t.

It’s just like academics. Sometimes gifted people don’t make the adjustment to when they have to actually work at something for a change.

And then there are those who take “work” to another level.
