Summary: ISU has several players in NBA playoffs that were decent in college too. Some took longer (Niang) than others to show out in the NBA. Last line: "Iowa State was miserable at men's basketball last season. Don't look for that to happen again for a long time."

He could of said we were "absolutely f*cking miserable" and still be completely fair.

Agree Hlas is a good sports writer. And he is fair toward ISU in the 5% of his articles that are reporting on the Cyclones.

Well he is the Iowa basketball beat writer for them, so that percentage probably makes sense.

Good article, nothing earth shattering, but a good solid article.

The percentage probably holds on all of his football related articles as well. Doesn't mean he isn't a good writer. But Hlas, and his paper, obviously play to the eastern Iowa hok base.

They had a good writer for a while who wrote some great ISU stories. Then Cyclone Fanatic hired him away. ;)
