I'm looking for a place to buy a computer monitor, preferably a flat panel 15'' or 17'' either new or used. Any of you have any ideas as to a good place to look for them reasonably priced? I'm trying to set up my laptop so I can have two screens running for accounting purposes. Thanks!

Go here:

Discount Flat-Panel/LCDs Items | Flat-Panel/LCDs Specials | Shop For Flat-Panel/LCDs Bargains

You can filter the monitor size along the right side.

Dealnews is a great site that compiles sales, rebates, and offers on tons and tons of tech products and office supplies, as well as quite a bit of other stuff. They track prices relative to the lowest they've seen for that product, so you can have a baseline idea of how much you should pay. They cover Newegg among their sites, so you don't have to search Newegg separately.

I found my LG 19" widescreen at Best Buy for $240, but the next week it was on sale for $199. Pretty good deal if you ask me, and it look pretty darn good.

I don't know if this would help but I got a 19'' flatscreen CRT monitor that looks fine and has worked for over a year for me at the ISU surplus for $1.50

Yeah, I have two CRTs I'll part with: an 18" and a 20" flat screen. Both are in great shape; anyone can PM me if they're interested.

Since it takes $10 to get rid of CRTs, I would think this site could be a clearing house for monitors - get them free if you turn over 50k in credits and you pick up...another CR feature? Sustainability/recycling?

Just buy a $399 dell computer that comes with a 19" LCD and sell the computer and keep the moniter

In order for that to work, someone has to want it. I'm just looking for a solution with the least hassle. I already know I'm going to have to buy a dual monitor card since my laptop isn't equipped, so I'm trying to minimize the $ I spend on a monitor.

A dual monitor card for a laptop? I have never seen a laptop where someone needed 3 displays. What do you do that you need 3?

When I hook up a second screen, all it does is say what my laptop screen does, which doesn't do me much good. I want to be able to have two different Excel spreadsheets up at the same time.

I figured out how to make my wallpaper go on both screens as one, How can I get my program (like Autocad) go on both screens and operate as 1?
