I know it’s early, but this is the time of year to go get your name on one. Looking for some help on where to go in central Iowa. The place we normally go has really disappointed the last few years in SE Iowa. Hope people here know which ones to go to and which to avoid.

Thanks

We've had great luck at Morgan Tree Farm in Ogden, and at Center Grove Orchard in Cambridge (if you want to do the whole thing).

Kris Kringla Christmas Tree Farm outside Roland seems to have nice trees. They look good from the road.

(This is coming from someone that doesn't go for the real tree)

Strautmans just NE of Cambridge is where we go. Good selection of trees plus if you have kids or a Christmas crazy wife like mine their gift shop is worth it too. They do a good job of making it an experience for the family.

Just buy a fake tree. It’s cheaper than buying one every year and it lasts you forever. There’s also no needles to worry about.

Hunter Tree Farm in Chariton IA might be a little closer to you than some of the other suggestions. Also, they're ISU alum!

I hunt in late November on an island in Lake Superior (Madeline Island) and usually bring home a nice balsam tree. They aren't real filled out, but the fact that it's unique makes up for it.
