I am wondering about those white lights that have a very cool almost blue glow. Anyone know what they are, what they are called or where to buy them?

Are they blue LED lights or white lights giving a blue glow like the blue halogen headlights?

I would say they look more like the halogen headlights. Im pretty sure they are white and not actually blue.

Im seriously thinking of investing in LEDs next year. You can strang like 20 of them together. Our current ones only do around 3-4 until you blow out the fuse. They suck to plan for.

Wow, you cant get them for less than 25 bucks? Thats a lot to pay for the look when everything at Walmart is 3-6 bucks lol.

They are expensive, but they are 10,000 times more durable and won't burn out. You don't have to stand around and shake them to get them to work. You will love them and basically won't have to replace them due to the life of the LEDs.

I've had them for a couple years on the roof, and even with all the ice storms last year, not a single problem.

But how are they different from the LEDs that wallyworld has? Those are supposed to last far longer than regular lights as well.

After spending 2 hours today working on 2 year old $3 lights it maybe worth it to spend the extra money.

I've been disappointed with regular lights I've bought from both Wal-mart and Target.... (Had several bulbs on each strand not fully coated...)

And it wasn't like all of the strands were the off-brand... I bought some Philips lights from Target that were poor quality.

As for those "Almost blue" lights, yes those are White LED's, and that blue tint is (part) of the reason you don't see them used in houses yet to replace Flourecent and incadesent lights (harsh blue color vs soft redish hue that flourecents and incadescents give off).

That and the up front cost, though the savings from the low energy use and the extremely long life of the bulb help off set that and then some in the long run I believe

Ok, maybe I'm the dense one, but Target and Walmart also have LEDs - is an LED not an LED if you dont pay 25 bucks?

This is why for several years now my outside display has been made up of green and red bulbs in the porch and garage lights
