Yep, I've heard Petco and Sports Authority are going in between Target and Super Walmart. What exactly is Sports Authority, anything like Scheels?
Out here, give me a choice between Chipotle and Qdoba and I take Chipotle every time. Except maybe on Qdoba's Taco-tastic Tuesdays, and even then it's still a maybe. It's been a long time since I've eaten at Panchero's so I don't think I can make a judgement.
Full disclosure...I'm not a farmer, although I am the grandson of a farmer and the son of a part-time farmer. I have no ties to the agriculture industry other than that. My wife works in the 'natural foods' industry...full bore, non-GMO, no HFCS, all that stuff. I straddle the camps by nature. I tend to think the absolutists on either end of any argument are generally wrong, but can serve to inform those in the middle who can listen with a discerning ear (as in, sort out the male bovine feces). I am also kind of a 'foodie' who knows what a garden grown tomato tastes like, who knows what a good damn steak tastes like that isn't 'enhanced with up to 15% of a flavor enhancer'. I make my own sausage and like that I know what goes in it, but I also use traditional curing agents like nitrates. That's enough...I'm not biased.
I read an article recently that blew my mind. It talks about GMO in a frank manner from a 'f**king prove it with science' perspective. The guy helped start the non-GMO movement, but prides himself on using actual facts. Once he dug into GMO/non-GMO..the summary is...unless you're willing to be responsible for creating conditions that drive additional people starving, higher chemical application rates and additional destruction of natural habitat for food production, you should be okay with GMO food. Maybe not happy, jump up and down for joy, but okay.

NO MATTER WHAT SIDE YOU'RE ON...take a listen. Again, I'm neutral, I get both sides of it and have straddled the fence for quite a few years.
I'm eating Fighting Burrito right now and honestly at first it was a little disappointing. However, I decided to start imagining that it was Chipolte and my mood quickly improved.
Long story short right now it doesn't matter what kind of burrito I get, but at noon on a weekday I'll be hitting up Chipotle. Mainly because I love America.

I haven't eaten food chain Mexican food for almost 4 years. My town is over 50% Hispanic. The food here is better than anything with a marketing team.
Sports Authority is probably closer to a ****'s than Scheels. More of an emphasis on athletic goods than hunting/camping goods. The ones near me (not that the New Orleans stores are shining examples), had some camping & fishing stuff but leaned more towards team sport stuff.
As far as the Chipotle debate, I wasn't all that impressed with Chipotle when it opened down here. Had it 4-5 times and it's always kind of bland. I much prefer a louisianna chain called Izzo's.
Surprised if Petco is coming to Ames. The city tried to force down their throats a few years ago how big their parking lot needed to be, and I thought Petco pretty much gave Ames the middle finger after being too (understandably) frustrated.
I haven't had Chipotle may or may not try it.

There has never been an Old Chicago in Cedar Rapids. Believe me, I would have known. I might very well have kept the business in operation singlehandedly if they had a franchise here.
Where exactly by Westdale are you thinking? I'm trying to think of places that have come and gone over the past 21+ years I've lived here.
I like Chipotle. However, Freebirds is much better. Just not one close to where I live. But there is one close to where i work. As for Pepperjax, the Steak sandwiches are awesome. However, their chicken is terrible. It is not a burrito place, but does have some similar things.
