Chances Lazard breaks record this year?

I'm not ready to go there. Oklahoma is loaded. King is very good but the best player ISU sees all season? No, I can't get on board with that.
I wouldn't ever say that about a Hawk if I didn't actually think it. As much as I hate the Hawks, I love the way King plays, and he has always been solid, senior season should only be better. I understand the Big12 has a bunch of solid offensive threats we will play week in and week out, but I don't think we will see the types of King on D. JMO.

I don't think we'll throw enough for AL to break the record this year but I think he will take the next step and become an elite WR in our league. I'd love for teams to have to scheme ways to stop him, that would open up the running game even more for Warren and Lanning.

Breaking news, I know.

While looking up those run/pass ratios I saw that Baylor threw the ball only 35% of the time which is one of the lowest in the country.

Baylor has been one the top rushing teams in the country under Briles, people don't realize it because they can't fathom a team scoring that many points and playing so fast as a run first team.

He'll break consecutive-games record. 3rd on the other two lists.

Next season: Sets receptions record and #2 for career yards.
Why don't you think he'll catch Blythe for career yards? He's so tough to bring down after the catch and still getting better.

I disagree. If he doesn't break Blythe's record I would be disappointed. He would need to average 847 yards over two seasons to break it which I think is reasonable considering his skillset.

I think we will run/pass% about the same as we have been. Hopefully the difference is the passes are completed and the runs are long.

Warren and Lazard should complement eachother nicely opening eachother up. Hopefully Lanning is more accurate this year, because we know he can run. Our staff can mask OL weaknesses... And we have a solid group there as it is just needs to stay healthy because there's not much depth.

I hate to say it but if Allen has a 76 catch season, he won't be back for this senior year.
Possibly, but it's far from a given. If Lazard's goal was just to get to the NFL as soon as possible, there were multiple better ways to get there that he could have taken. If he has a big year I wouldn't blame him for making the jump, but I also believe he's serious about turning the program around and leaving it in better shape than it was when he arrived. And that point might be a couple years away yet.

It's splitting hairs. Either way he's a hell of a good player and he'll be a good test for Lazard. The winner of that individual battle will play a big part in who wins the game. ISU will be pretty easy to defend if King holds his own on an island. If Iowa has to dedicate safety help it opens lanes for Warren and gives the other receivers a chance to win their one on one matchups.

AL hasn't had a receiving TD vs the Hawks, and I would love for that to change this year, cause we are going to need some explosions on offense.

I really hope he does. That would mean great things for our team this fall.

I'll say this: I'm really glad we have a new coaching staff. I'm tired of creating preseason threads with high expectations only to have them fall flat.

Allen is not innocent to his lack of numbers. Allen needs to do a better job of getting open. Youth and inexperience are no longer and excuse for him. Lanning has yet to prove he can consistently throw the ball accurately and make quick reads. He doesn't lack arm talent or the ability to make plays with his feet. I think we'll have a pretty good idea after the first few games.

Campbell's teams at Toledo had a couple WRs that put up HUGE numbers, but they were back in 2011 and 2012, and they were more of the smurf type WR unlike Lazard. It will be interesting to see how targets are distributed this year.
