She showed her hand though when publicly delighted when the big10 finally started playing games during Covid. She said something along the lines of not having to watch Oklahoma State play. Okie State has been one of the most successful teams in the last 10+ years, yet got not respect and called out. She can eff off.
Oh no, she said something that hurt your feelings 4 years ago. That doesn’t make her reporting less credible which is what that user was questioning.

I swear I don’t know how some in our fanbase gets through the day without feeling slighted by something. It must be miserable.

Start making peace that Texas, Alabama, and UGA will be in this season’s playoff. Ole Miss, LSU, Tennessee, and Mizzou are lurking in the Top 15 for a 4th or 5th spot from the SEC. Some of them play each other, but any loss will be considered a quality one.
Texas, Georgia and Bama should be in unless they prove something different. Watching those three teams they are clearly each in the top-12 of the sport this year. Tennessee I think is, but need a bit more. Missouri and Ole Miss not sold on at all.

I'm kind of to the point where the Big 10 and SEC can just go do their own thing and let everyone else do something else. It is already getting so lopsided with the haves and have nots. I think the Big 10 and SEC won't like it so much when they can't all win and something has to give.

Agreed. Just let them do their own thing in football. Create a FBS playoff with the ACC and G5. And don’t schedule them in the regular season and see how the ratings work out. Honestly, you can blow up the Big12 and ACC and develop regional conferences with the G5 teams. It would be better for the sport and the fans in the long run.

The lower tier will certainly lose a lot of TV dollars compared to the Big12 and ACC today. But, if you don’t have to keep up with the P2, I’d think the budgets will adapt.

Man, if you immediately wrote off any member of the media who made any even moderately disrespectful remark about anyone in the conference you'd run out of "reputable" sources real quick.

If people can’t see that Georgia, Bama, and Ohio State have different types of athletes and players on the field than what we see on a regular Big 12 Saturday then they don’t know what their watching or refuse to admit it.

I’m not a fan of most of the changes in cfb but you have to realize that if you did this it would be choosing to light ISU’s entire athletic dept on fire.

The ratings for the SEC and Big Ten would still be more than fine. Their fan bases are massive and spread throughout the country.

Intentionally dropping down a level is crazy. Even if we are at a disadvantage you still want to be at the highest level. No different than English Premier League where clubs who will never win the league title still want to be a part of the top division for a plethora of reasons.

As long as we have playoff access it’s worth it.

Honestly, I’d get behind it if the Big 12 gets a second bid. A 14 team format with 4 SEC, 4 B1G, 2 B12, 2 ACC, 1 G5, 1 Notre Dame/ at large was floated about last year.

I wouldn’t mind getting rid of subjectivity/committee bias while cementing our status as a multi-bid league.
I already was operating under the assumption that the polling and committee were going to be heavily biased for the SEC and Big Ten, so the real difference here is that the SEC would essentially be giving at least one spot to the Big Ten.

So yeah, I'd take a 2 bid Big 12, but I'd be shocked if they gave that. Probably just want 4 guaranteed, and then they'll manipulate things to get a 5th in there.

2 was already offered and turned down by the Big12 and ACC. I don’t want the playoff to expand again and I understand why it was turned down but that might end up being a mistake

Journalism is dead, media is alive and well and has an agenda and a narrative. She’s a part of the machine that has helped lead us here (realignment) and made her true feelings clear. If those that “love“ CFB feels this way we are in trouble…and we are. I personally lost respect for her.

They’re on another level than most of their conference mates too

you can absolutely welcome them back in 2020 but the shot at Okie State wasn't necessary.

Implying that isn't going to happen in the long term anyway. Easy to say from your ivory tower, other state school who is lagging behind powerhouse teams but happened to be grandfathered into winner conference instead of a loser one.

How long term are you talking? As long as the Big12 has a seat or preferably 2 seats at the table for the playoff ISU’s AD is fine. Taking your ball and going to try to make a playoff with the G5 is suicide.

Are we at the highest level? Cause it’s becoming more and more apparent that the Big12 is seen as closer to the MWC as the SEC by the media.

Once the SEC starts paying players tens of millions of dollars a year from that TV contract, it’ll only get worse.

It is. But it’s literally the only leverage the B12 has. If we just have one seat while B10/SEC has 8, we’re in for a world of hurt next tv contract anyway
