I think everyone is making a big leap about mental health and anger issues based on a highly competitive game atmosphere. The stuff at ISU that happened off the court, it’s okay to make inferences there. Stuff like this happens on the court? I’m not comfortable making those assumptions or diagnoses. Some of the most level headed and calm individuals I know turned in to monsters on the soccer field.
Agreed.

As I said before 99% of coaches go off worse on officials than he did and now he has steroid issues, mental issues, substance issues? This thread is embarrassing and unfair to him unless something actually comes out.

What did he say to the ref?

Is it possible that Caleb has just always been a hot head who doesn't like hearing hard truths about himself?
I dont remember him having behavioral issues until last Janaury. In fact, I assumed by his behavior before that he was a model student athlete.

It just seems so far out of character than what I remember his first 3 years.

I don’t want to downplay mental health as I have friends and colleagues who struggle with some pretty heavy stuff but to me it seems he just has really bad temper/anger problem and he has trouble controlling it.

Blast me if I’m out of line but that’s not a mental health issue it’s a not growing the F up issue.

If you put a name on something you can sell a medicine for it. I mean, treat it. :jimlad:

Yeah, but it could be the symptoms of things like an anxiety disorder showing up. That's not normal behavior for someone who is happy with life right now. He's been playing basketball for a long time so it's not the first time he's gotten a bad call.

Enough to get tossed? What did Tom Izzo say to this ref? Did people call for him to get treatment or go to rehab?

You made a statement of 99%. You're using conjecture while trying to admonish those doing the same thing, right?

Caleb has been booted from a team before for saying something. He has admitted to mental health issues. It's not like most people are just randomly tossing out those assumptions based off of no past.

And Izzo is an *******.

You threw a dart against the wall (your own words)and speculated HGH/steroid issues.

That’s far worse than me saying “idk I hope he’s ok but he might just have a temper” and most coaches do far worse every night.

He didn’t kick the ref in the face, then pull out a can of spray paint and tag the ref with “CWO”. You can watch a set of 8 games on any random Thursday and see this kind of behavior. It wasn’t something I would call crazy behavior on a basketball court, especially from a team that is surprisingly down huge.

No one called Dustin Hogue a mental case when he ninja kicked a guy in the chest with a toothpick in his mouth when we were getting crushed in Morgantown.

I never said I wasn't assuming. Most are.
Again, he's been booted from a team before and made a mental health statement about it.

Did Dustin Hogue release a mental health statement after being kicked off a team?

And Izzo has years of rapport and likely acts on the limits like not touching a ref or using certain terms/language.

It's just a different dynamic.

I only speculated on the physical aspect because it is impossible to put on 14 pounds of muscle mass in a month. At least not naturally.

Soooo, something is going on there. Or it was just hyperbole. In which case, carry on.

So now everyone person ever with a mental health issue needs to be medicated to the point they are a zombie? Is there a requirement that recovery from a mental health issue means not being competitive or being allowed to feel aggrieved or wronged in a sports situation?

This was with 10 minutes left correct?

Did he get a warning or were things chippy between the teams prior?

I may have missed it but where does it say he gained it only in a month? I just assumed it was the S&C and nutrition a D1 athlete over the course of an offseason.
