Well this thread is fun.

We're at the sad stage in the state and country that 50% of people openly root for people to fail and they love it when someone else struggles (as long as its not them or their family, then they expect all of the sympathy). We should all hope he's okay and, if he needs help, he gets it.

I have no idea. I'm honestly wondering if its supplements/HGH/roids. It's dart against the wall.

His first transfer, I was kind of mad at ISU because I assumed we didn't treat his hand injury all that well. Now I'm second guessing that.
I thought it happened after he got hurt last year. That maybe it led to an addiction to the drugs after he was healed physically.

As somebody that would far exceed the requirements to be a "mental case" based on this thread, I have a very low tolerance for calling out, talking down to, or bashing somebody for their mental health battles. Those issues are every much as real as cancer, tumors, MS, etc. While they might not seem like a big deal if you don't have those mental health issues yourself, that doesn't make them any less real.

Please keep the thread either supportive or on-topic of his game/play.
I would guess nearly everyone deals with some level of mental health issues, it's just that most people don't have the guts to admit it.

Kudos to you for standing up and being able to discuss.

Anybody want to take a guess on what's going on with him instead of calling him a mental case?

I don't know what happened but he looks like when my 5 year old gets extremely frustrated and can't control their emotions.

Oh, I don't think taking guesses on that is a good idea at all.

Pure speculation and @Jeremy pleade delete if it's over the line: Deeply seeded stuff or maybe got hooked on something last year after his injury?

It really started ramping up last season vs. Texas in Ames when he told the UT bench to call time out.

Some will say 'that's the fire the team needed' while ignoring that he almost gave up a free bucket to his man with that nonsense if it weren't for UT mishandling the dribble out of bounds.

Their fan support is pathetic. Minnesotans intentionally eschew college sports as a way to look down their noses at all their neighbors. Wisconsin has pro sports too, and that doesn’t draw support away from the Badgers.
True, but that's not why they suck.

They suck because they haven't made a good coaching hire in either sport for about 30 years.
Football since Holtz was there in 84-85:
John Gutekunst, Jim Wacker, Glen Mason, Tim Brewster, Jeff Horton, Jerry Kill, Tracy Claeys, P. J. Fleck
not exactly a hall of fame list - Mason was barely over .500 in 10 years.

BBall - Clem Haskins was there for 13 years, and managed 111-100 record. Tubby was there 6 years and was pretty good actually 124-81. Although I think BOTH got caught doing bad things iirc.
The others Monson, Molinari, Little Ricky, and Ben Johnson now - woof.

Put say, Klieman and TJ at Minny, with more money and more population, and they could be Top 10 programs, similar to Wisky when they had Bennett and Alvarez.

So it's hard to tell looking at the video clip, did he actually touch the ref?

Semantics and it was torch passing but Bo Ryan was overall better.

If you're talking about setting a standard then yeah Bennett was that.

That was an impressive comeback by Mizzou.

Minnesota sucks. They blew a 97.8% win expectation.

Mizzou got clowned by Memphis in Columbia the second game of the season. The Tiger have some work to do if they want to play themselves back into NCAA tournament contention.

Good schedule, though... still have to play Pitt, Wichita State, Kansas (in Lawrence!), Seton Hall, and Illinois. Why can't we have a fun non-conference schedule like that sort of setup?
Are they really starting Noah Carter (the 6'6" Noah Carter) as their only "big"? They are really undersized

Missed this last night, watched that video a few times and looks like Caleb flopped as he came down on both feet then fell over after barely getting touched. Didn't look like he was bumped while shooting or that any of the contact affected his ability to get a clean show off and looks like a good follow through after the release. T was deserved, he said something to the ref then bumped him.

Dunno what is going on with Caleb but appears he has some anger issues still. Hope he gets the help he needs. I will be glad when all the covid years are burned up as have too many guys the past few years playing that should be done with college by now. Jalen Coleman-Lands was a perfect example of too many waivers and extended eligibility. He started his college career in 2015 at Illinois and wound up playing 6 seasons at 4 different schools and finally was out of eligibility 7 years later at the age of 26.

Yep, Mizzou starts 4 guards. But they play 2 bigs most of game.

Carter was huge during their 20pt comeback- made a lot of good things happen besides points.

REALLY bad play by the stripe here.. That is a foul..

Also, CG still looks like he needs help

Nah. It was close but a delayed flop isn't going to help matters. You can't touch the official and do whatever Grill did next.

Unusual comments by coach Gates. Even if there was some sort of plan for Grill to get a technical, I don't think it's a good look to say what he said.

I don't think there's been a player I can remember who's been more difficult as a fan to understand what's going on. Otz clearly chose his words when talking about Grill very carefully sometimes and then this Gates soundbite is weird. Whether he needs help, needs to mature, or is just misunderstood, all I can say is I wish him the best.

My Minny friends are clear Minny hockey is #1 people, then move onto the pro sports.
Yep. I had a co-op in Minneapolis during college, a few of the other co-ops were Minny students. They all loved hockey and only 1 of them had football tickets. They thought it was odd that I drove back to Ames for every ISU game but went to a handful of Twins and T-Wolves games with me.

Ben Johnson isn’t working out for the Gophers.

Give him one more year and then let's circle back to Isaac Asuma in the portal.

In all seriousness, Minnesota had actually looked much improved until that 20 point meltdown. That stings. They have to at least be competitive this year.
