Bryce Dejean-Jones, a 6'5 SG, is transferring from UNLV and will be a 5th year senior next season. He averaged roughly 14ppg, 4 assists, and 3 boards per game. According to Jeff Goodman from ESPN he is the 4th best transfer available. (Eron Harris is 1 and Anthony Lee 2 for reference) He has had some off the court issues but the numbers and attitude problems are very similar to a guy we brought in from Marshall this past season and seemed to work pretty well.

Here is his high school pages..

And an article from CBS regarding his transfer..

There are no confirmed sources linking us to Jones.. yet.. but Cyclone07 has recently said that HE actually reached out and called FRED from a reliable source. (EDITED) Thank you for the inside scoop Cyclone07 I believe in what you say. Although some of you might not believe it I figured if a thread can be made on a player that hasn't even stated he is going to transfer yet (Antoine Mason) I figured one could be made on Jones.:twitcy:

He has had dozens of schools reach out to him including Kentucky, Arizona, UCLA, and Cincinnati. Point is, he would be a big time contributor. This guy could really bolster the talent we already have and put us at a top 10, top 5 level.

Here is a couple highlight videos..

I have to admit a Top 5 available transfer is just what the hoiberg cook ordered.

Interesting that he is wanting to leave the greatest pro-style offense to come play for little old Fred Hoiberg, who's offense has nothing to do with the NBA.

Let's not get too enamored of the guy just because he looks like the next iteration of the patented Hoiberg Rehabilitation Project. He's got good numbers but there's no indication that he's got more upside than already shown. As for the personality issues, everybody's f-ed up in their own unique way, just because Royce's and DeAndre's issues were amenable to the Hoiberg treatment doesn't mean this guy's would be.

In the end, Keep calm and trust Fred.

Yes please if we can turn him into a scoring stud it would almost be a sort of revenge for UNLV paying Vaughn.

You could say this about every single transfer/recruit, so what's the point?

This guy is exactly who I envisioned when I wanted a 5th year immediately ready SG for this team.

Mentioned it in the other thread, but from someone close to the team I was told Dejean-Jones contacted Fred first. So obviously he has interest in us, not sure how much interest we have in him. Would be a monster get, IMO.
