Remember we recruited Emily Potter? She was on Canada's Junior Team last year. As a Freshmen this past season she did well at Utah http://www.utahutes.com/sports/w-baskbl/mtt/emily_potter_855811.html in the tough Pac 12.

Carleton is better at her position than Potter, and may be one of the top 2-3 players overall in Canada for her age group. Any ranking info Bridget? Its all good.

Wonder how the subbing took place. Everyone on the team had double digit minutes.

I watched some of the game - Bridget started but got two early fouls. By the time she went back in the game was a blowout. Guessing she would have played more minutes if the game had been competitive.

Generally only in hockey do they refer to the garment a player wears in competition as a sweater rather than a jersey.

She started against Mexico, an 84-51 win for Canada. Bridget played a total of 30 minutes - the most of any player on the team - and got one foul. She was 4-8 from the field, including 2-5 outside the arc. She also pulled down 5 rebounds, all at the defensive end. She had 1 turnover and 3 assists. So, not a bad outing for an underaged player.

Against USA in a 30 point loss Bridget had 19 pts (5-7 total, 4-6 from 3, 5-6 FT) 2 reb and 3 blocked shots in about 22 min.

I don't know if this was posted before, but Carleton is ranked as high as the number 9 best player in the International pool of players coming into the NCAA this year. The article is months old but nice to note.

Update to this old thread. Carleton and Iowa's Christina Buttenham were named to the tryout squad for the Canadian U19 team. I would guess she makes the squad since she has been on the other younger categories of the FIBA Canadian teams and been one of the best players on those teams.

And in May they had a juniors vs seniors all-star game.

Okay, I am kinda bored and surfin' today before I go out and get some exercise. :)
