Saw that Iowa did what most people thought they'd do. Looks like it will stay the same old sh**
Your next head coach, Iowa fans.
AKA Kirk Ferentz will continue to be the offensive coordinator
what happens in three years when they want to use the OC as a scapegoat again?
He's rolling the dice on a head coaching job at Iowa or any P5 school for that matter when the tavern hoks start yelling for his head.
I don't really care what Iowa does, but don't most organizations have some kind of nepotism policy?
Coaches hire relatives all the time. Off the top of my head I can name:
ISU - used to with Magino/Magino and Burnham/Burnham
Brian technically reports to Gary Barta and not Kirk, but it's just a formality.
Brian already reports to Barta, that is how they are getting around that technicality.
Given how rough he had it in college (having to live in subsidized housing) I'm glad to see him doing well.
If Brian doesn't listen to dad he may have to move back into subsidized housing.
Brian: "Hey dad, I want to install a more up tempo passing offense"
Brian: "Ok, whatever you say dad."
If there was somebody that can make his Dad change it would be his son I'm guessing. Probably not as bad as most on here think.
Mangino's son was only half the coach he was.
