Yeah, I do. The same source told be McKay would be good, Burton 'will' be good, Niang/Naz best guys who embrace Cyclonenation you ever want to meet, Minn. would't get Coffey if Fred stayed, Diallo/Yakwe were here as 2015's until the glitch of GA contact, plus ultimately Fred leaving. Those are just a few. I guess I have a lot of faith in their info. But bash away.

Grant it, I did say (AFTER a poster claimed we wouldn't miss a beat in 2016) that Jackson was no Monte and Ernst/Young/Carter no Niang/McKay/Nader. I think most that follow our team would agree with that, not a startling or negative comment. Meaning, that's no reflection on them, our players our staff could get after such a late transition. Fred's 2016 would have been iffy anyway, like another poster pointed out, especially when Matt A. departed & continual NBA rumors. To each his own, I guess. I realize most of you rather read the posts claiming we have a monster class, who we will beat every game and by how much because we're so much better, etc. Those same people that bash our players/staff when they don't win a particular game, or go 15-3 in the Big12. Disagree with you....I'm very positive and supportive of our staff and team because I don't put them on this high pedestal or ridicule them when they aren't perfect. But, yes, I tend to take a more realistic, reserved approach. Peace, brother.

Wow, brah, my mom could have deduced those things and she doesn't even really get on the internet that much.

It's "granite", silly.

MMMMMMMMM.....no. And no.

read the article randy Peterson wrote when Jackson committed. Jackson said Monte would be gone. I'm sure Jackson was told that Monte would not be here next year. Sometimes it helps to read/listen to what people say.

right, which is why I said barring injury or disaster.

monte probably has the same well connected source that all4cy has that says 2016 will be bad. If so (and who are we to doubt the source) Monte will probably leave no matter what.

plus there are enough rumblings that the transition might not be going well and Monte might not have it in him to deal with that for 2 years.

Once again, I'm not going to be the jinx. A lot can happen between now and then. Just because something was true at one time doesn't make it true forever.

So why is CW wasting his time then?

he also said in that there was a question about Monte leaving.

Look....every single sign points to Monte wanting out after this year. He's done everything but declare for the draft at this point. Anything is possible but it is probably more likely that the football team wins 6 games than Monte is an Iowa state player in 2016-17.

First of all, I never said ANY of what your last statement just said. And, despite what some of you think, I NEVER said I agreed with the 'bad' part, just "passed it along" and initiated me into stating that I felt we needed more pieces... versus "after Malou we're set and the rest is gravy" thing. But posters are going to think what they want.

I'm just opinion searching here. I didn't want to start a new thread.

Do you think Fred still keeps in contact with Niang or Morris, giving them advice on what they need to do to increase their draft stock? Or is Fred too focused on succeeding in the NBA now to really care?

Also, what's everyone's expectation for Nader this year? I don't recall him starting that much (if at all) last year. Many seem really happy penciling him in as a starter this year, but I just can't get over my apprehension for some reason.

Lastly, I know Niang, Mckay, Morris and Long (if healthy) all start. Will Prohm go with Nader/Thomas/Cooke/Burton for that final spot? Will it depend on the hot hand? Will it just depend on the opponent or do you think Prohm will just say "F it, I'm going to dictate how our opponent plays us."

Did I say you agreed? No. You said sources tell you 2016 will be bad. I suspect Monte has access to the same sources as you, just another reason to plan for him to leave.

And while I would love for him to stay, I am grateful that he is being open about his thinking process (because if he is as open as he is with what gets out, you know the coaches know far more than we do).

i suspect Fred stays in contact with those guys and will be very helpful to them. Whether that help is useful to the team in general or prohm is up for debate in my opinion.

The 4 seniors and Monte were doing photos hoots together yesterday (other players were there but the photos the seniors posted were of those 5). Makes you think that might be the starters. Or the 5 who won't be around in a year.

Lol. Does he want out of ISU or does he want to go to the NBA? Two different things.

If Nader can achieve just 50% of his ability your apprehension will fade quickly.

Check tweets to other players talking about them stepping up next year when monte is gone. And if you watch periscope they frequently speak about George and Monte being in the NBA next year including Monte.

I'm not going to look too far into it, but a quick look shows nothing about stepping up. I don't think it's a secret he'd like to go. That's a long ways from actually going.

Can you guys start a new thread to have your silly roster arguments? Or maybe it's time to close this thread.
