There has been no news with anyone and Kostas so it's hard to say what is going on there. Maybe he plays in Europe instead if college. But it should would be a huger get bc he has a ton of upside

The only two serious (known) recruits right now are Jakolby Long and Zach Norvell. It sounds like we're sitting pretty well with Long, but Norvell is a long shot.

I'm betting we sign the 3 current guys + Long, then wait to see what transfers come available or if there are any guys that develop over the winter.

Would love to pull in both Long and Norvell, but agreed Norvell seems like a huge long shot by what I can see. Is there anything out there currently that has us in good with him?

I asked Hines a week ago about Kostas and he said he hasn't heard the name in a long time. Not saying you guys should move on but I think I have.

this guy knows his stuff time to move on...

I agree. Worst part is I talk to someone who I think "knows his stuff", too, and his comment was that we will be 'bad' in 2016. Don't shoot the messenger. Now, this was before Malou signed, but not sure 1 guy is going to make bad turn into good. This is just a guess, but my take on that comment was simply the young frontcourt guys coming in are untested and maybe marginal, idk. Plus tough to replace Monte. Hopefully its an over-reaction to losing this years' guys.

Since 501 says (good enough for me) the Greek is out a new best case:
Class Score 42.02 / Class Rank 16
Zach NorvellSG (6-4/185)0.9452 (+24.52)Remove
Eric CurryPF (6-8/210)0.9334 (+14.15)Remove
Emmanuel MalouPF (6-9/210)0.9300 (+3.11)Remove
Donovan JacksonPG (6-2/175)0.9100 (+0.23)Remove
Jakolby LongSG (6-4/200)0.8815 (+0.01)Remove
Solomon YoungPF (6-6/215)0.8662
(+0.00)Remove

And a most likely case w/ just Long:

Class Score 38.38 / Class Rank 23
Emmanuel MalouPF (6-9/210)0.9300 (+23.00)Remove
Donovan JacksonPG (6-2/175)0.9100 (+12.74)Remove
Jakolby LongSG (6-4/200)0.8815 (+2.46)Remove
Solomon YoungPF (6-6/215)0.8662 (+0.18)

Sounds like an over reaction. We have a pretty talented group of guys still, and more scholarships/transfers to go.

Hope so. Really think a transfer (or two) is the key. Sure hope they don't change that grad 5th yr. eligibility rule, that would be just our dumb luck , or Prohm's that is.

It's way too early to say that we're going to be bad.

Burton, Cooke, Carter, Jackson and Malou could all be better than we think or worse, we simply don't know yet.

Who's to say that Ernst or Babb won't surprise us?

We don't even know for sure if Monte will stay or go. I'd say it's pretty close to 50/50.

Prohm may tweak our style of play which makes the loss of McKay and Niang less of a problem.

Our coaches should be in much better position recruiting wise next year.

Lastly, regardless if Fred stayed, we were headed for a very questionable 2016 based on huge holes in our roster due to recruiting misses under Fred.

We still have the entire spring to land a transfer or two.

Of course a lot depends on if Monte is stays. If he's here, you have to be comfortable with our guards. Between Cooke, Thomas and Jackson, we should have an experienced and talented rotation.

Babb can play the 3 while Burton and Malou trade off at 3/4. We need another big body that is ready to play right away. Hopefully we can land a good transfer as you mentioned.

I know we haven't seen a lot of these guys in action, but based on offers, there is some talent in the pipeline.

Monte is gone barring a disaster or injury. If you read social media or watch periscope, its pretty much 100%.

I follow Monte on Twitter. Haven't seen anything about his pro aspirations. Is he updating his draft stock on Periscope?

Agree. He's going out with McKay/Niang/Naz. But also agree with posters saying we've rehashed this enough. Is it basketball season yet???? Can't wait.
