Rex Grossman was another 1st round Bears QB bust.

I agree that finding a franchise QB in the draft is extremely difficult.

Christian Ponder was a disaster, but he married a hottie... so not a complete waste.

Wentz isn't the biggest but he's one of the most unique. From Super Bowl and maybe Pro Bowl? to a journeyman fill in until that team can find their next real QB.
Besides his last year on the eagles, Wentz hasn't been too terrible in the NFL. His melt down during the last game last year was bad but statically has been decent for all but one year.

Agreed. He hasn't exactly lived up to the hype he had early on, but he's nowhere near the biggest bust of the last 10 years

A little outside of the time frame, but I submit JaMarcus Russell

1st overall pick
23 Interceptions
25 Fumbles
65.2 QB Rating
31 games played (25 starts)

$31.5 Mill guaranteed

This. Here are top 15 career passing yard list and the round they were drafted. Yes there are 5 number 1 overall picks but also later ones including Brady who many consider the best ever went in the 6th round

Brady round 6
Brees round 2
P Manning number 1 overall pick
Farve round 2
Roethlisberger early round 1
Rivers early round 1
Marino late first round
Ryan number 3 overall
E Manning number 1 overall pick
Rodgers late first round
Elway number 1 overall pick
Stafford number 1 overall pick
Moon undrafted
Tarkenton 3rd round
Palmer number 1 overall pick

Royce White was 16th and there is no question he was a bust.

Kind of but the reason he was 16 instead of 3 was people knew the risks well. Nobody outside ISU fans is going to be taking about #16 picks in a list of all time busts. They’ll be talking about the Odens and Darkos.

I'm simp
Who are we counting Hurts for here?

And is Mayfield a great QB?

As Janny noted, nobody has consistently produced great QBs.

There are 40 QBs who have earned All-Pro honors and the most for one school is probably
I'm simply looking at who produces starters. Nobody is prolific.

Josh Rosen
The once highly lauded QB class that 4 years later looks rather pedestrian.

Mayfield
Darnold
Rosen

To think that Josh Allen got drafted behind the first two guys and Lamar Jackson behind all three is simply unthinkable. Baker not being able to figure it out the pro-level has been remarkable. He was so good in college. Aside from being a little on the small side physically, it really seemed like his game would translate. He has had maybe one good season ever, and looks like his shot at resurgence in Carolina is gonna end in both him and Matt Rhule getting bounced out of the league.

I could be wrong, but seems like Wentz suffered a pretty bad injury at the end of year 2 (or maybe early year 3?) and just hasn't been the same player since. It does seem like it's all mental for him though.
