Re: Big XXII conference

I say we do away with conferences and combine all FBS teams into a single super conference, the Big CXIX.

No one is going to force us to leave. We are better than a bye week, teams can rest while still getting the win.

I think the BigXXII is actually the merger of the Pac10 and Big12.

That would be good. I think we could give Washington and Washington State a game.

This is really a 2-part rumor-

It started last year on the aTm fansite, where a bunch of assclown fans wanted to see Iowa State kicked from the conference, as, according to them, we really brought nothing to the table (as if they've had a whole lot of room to talk lately).

It has lately been brought up by a few misguided ISU fans, with one guy leading the charge that will remain nameless, although his name starts with C and ends with one2thebone...

Basically the belief is if we leave the Big XII for, say the MAC conference, that we would perform much better and actually win a few ballgames here and there. What in our performance against the MAC over the last several years gives them this idea (including losses to Northern Illinois, Toledo, Kent St) I have no idea, but the idea is there...

If we went to a merger, we would be recruiting more in California also.

Would the Rose Bowl switch to an internal league bowl then with the Big Ten usurped from playing?

Pete Carroll versus Bobby Stoops woiuld be a classic.

To address the original post, where has it been discussed that we may be kicked out? Maybe I missed a thread, but I've only seen people here say that we should leave--not that we're being forced to leave.

I don't know of any rumors that say we're being forced to leave--well, until now I guess.
Lol, I like how this keeps getting twisted. The OP was wondering if a conference even has the power to forcibly remove a member school, and if so, what that process was. The question was being asked in response to suggestions that the Big XII might/could/should/will eventually kick us out of the conference. There aren't... er, weren't any actual rumors about it, though some folks around here are trying their hardest to fix that.

Sorry one to many X's I don't know how to edit a Thread title.
Wow, all of this pandemonium and arguing is the result of a typo? Damn, that's the power of language for ya!

I don't always read entire threads so I just have picked up bits and pieces and comments.

Talk about your all-time backfires. Post a thread with a typo, come back a few hours later and this is what you get. That's what I get for not proof reading.

Anyone that (a) wants to leave the Big 12 for the MAC or (b) thinks that we'd get kicked out for not being competitive in football and men's basketball needs to be examined. That's ultraretardation.
