Looks like I will be taking my beer drinking talents to Lua or Confluence in the Des Moines metro.
I'm not sure whether or not this impacts this at all, but Lua is partnered with Big Grove - at least with production of those Climbing Kites THC seltzers

God dammit! I really like their citrus surfer. Guess it’s back to longboard and shandy.

****. This week sucks!

Lua beer slays them all.

I really want to try out their 'new' Either/Or restaurant.
we had our daughters "gotcha day" (adoption) celebration there and they were awesome.
amazing food, supper accommodating to our large group and actually didnt even charge us a room rental fee as they were so happy to host their first adoption party

i'll sing Either/Or's praises forever

Wonder how being partnered with the Hawkeyes is going to work out in their new Omaha location....

Their original location was in Iowa City so it's safe to assume the owners are Iowa fans. Nothing has really changed here. If I like a product I'm going to continue supporting that product regardless of what team the owners support. I can't fathom choosing products to support based on team allegiance.

I kind of agree. I like Big Grove enough to keep drinking their beers. It is my second favorite brewery in the state behind TG, although I'll caveat that I've never been to Confluence nor sampled any of their beers. I don't really like that Big Grove is jumping in bed with the Hawks, but I imagine they will release some university/Hawkeye athletic specific beer similar to what Backpocket has done with Iowa State. THOSE are the beers I will be boycotting. I can't totally give up Easy Eddy or Citrus Surfer. They are just too good. I have been to the tap room in Solon, and can vouch for those who have mentioned their food being off the hook as well. I will be back for that again at some point.

I agree, and am surprised Big Grove didn't do their initial NIL beer.

There are way too many great options for beer/food to still support a place that is directly tied to Iowa. I liked BG but will not be missing out on anything. Esp since Lua is right next door.
