The Big East was way down last year. They did poorly in the BigTen/Big East challenge early last season. That lead to the media over-hyping the Big Ten even more than they normally do. By the time everyone realized that the Big East stunk the media and Big Ten fans were claiming their conference as the best in the country while clearly the ACC was better and several computer rankings ranked the Big XII higher. Now next year I fully expect the Big East to be the best it has ever been.

Is the SEC/Big 12 challenge still a thing next year too? Assuming we would get a home game for that since we were at Ole Miss this year?

"If they follow precedent, they'll reset the matchups for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons and announce them in May. Last time when they set the pairings, the four teams at the bottom of the SEC standings from the previous season were left out of the mix for a two-year cycle: Auburn, Missouri, LSU and Mississippi State. It backfired two years later considering three of those four teams are nationally ranked but aren't playing in this weekend's SEC-Big 12 Challenge." St. Louis PD

aTm, Missouri, UGA, Vandy finished SEC bottom four this past season.

Still wish would could have had creighton.

Assuming the alliance continues for more than a couple of years, we'll get matched w/ Creighton. Marquette is another strong possibility. If ISU moves up the pecking-order ladder, Nova could occur at some point.

Edit/addition: Based on forecasts, playing Xavier this season is a better resume-builder than McCreighton. ISU-CU obviously would have solid regional fan interest.
