Big East really struggled this year in the tourney. Should be a good benchmark for the league.

Well outside of Tech, so did the Big 12

Not that bad. The Big XII didn't have great seeding and were not really good but not bad. KSU was hurt and played a good team. KU blew out the first round opponent and lost to a F4 team. Baylor and OU both won as 9 seeds easily and played respectably against the ones. ISU played bad and had a three to tie. The Big East was 1-4 with the only win being Nova over St Mary's.

Was selfishly hoping for a Marquette or Creighton for proximity/recruiting reasons, but Seton Hall is a solid program. Love that we get this game at Hilton as well. Is the SEC/Big 12 challenge still a thing next year too? Assuming we would get a home game for that since we were at Ole Miss this year?

I've always kind of liked Seton Hall and I'm not sure why. This should be a fun matchup!
Great throw back unis. Some of the best IMO.

That's a good draw. Seton Hall is usually good

Seton Hall is a good team to bring to Hilton, and I'd assume being two tourney teams a good time slot on TV early in the season.
That said before we start predicting scores, Willard is rumored to be the front runner to replace Buzz Williams at VT. SH could look very different in a month depending if he leaves.

Four of these matchups were already set, as they are return games from 2018-19:

The BIG EAST and the Big 12 are already engaged in home-and-home matchups for the (2018-19) season due to some preexisting agreements. The games are: Kansas State at Marquette, Villanova at Kansas, Creighton at Oklahoma, and Providence at Texas. Return dates in these matchups will be included in the 2019 series, the inaugural year of the arrangement. The complete slate for the first year will be announced in spring 2019.

Not sure if I like this draw. IIRC, Seton Hall always has a good big man. We don’t do well against bubble teams, which is where SHU seems to float around each year.

FYI, it looks like Virginia Tech is making a run at Seton Hall’s coach.
