ISU clearly needs to win out. Further, BYU and/or Colorado need to drop one of their remaining two conference games. Both have tough games remaining with BYU at Arizona State and Colorado versus Kansas is Arrowhead. Things will be much clear after next week’s games. My guess is that Blumm covers the issue in tonight’s podcast.

Interesting that Colorado and BYU both play right before us. If the dominoes fall correctly, could we control our own destiny again by kickoff?

To try an simplify for people. If we win both games, here are the most probable scenarios that get us in based on the results of the BYU/ASU and CO/KS games this week.

BYU + CO win: we need Houston to beat BYU in the last week
ASU + CO win: we need Arizona to beat ASU in the last week; or OSU to beat Colorado; or Houston to beat BYU
BYU + KS win: Texas Tech to lose one game + Kstate to beat Cinncinati; or Houston to beat BYU
ASU + KS win: we control our own destiny in almost all scenarios

Why do we need texas tech to lose when we are 1 game ahead of them? I think this is wrong. If b y u + kansas win and we win out we should be good right?

I'm sure its in the various tiebreakers as things get weird with the unbalanced schedules.

I'm guessing tie breakers. Takes our loss down a slot.

It changes the tiebreaker with Colorado. If Texas tech wins the tiebreaker is record against highest rated common opponents, which would be Tech, who we lost to.

Tie breakers are all weird but I thought 3 way tie we were good probably doesn't matter because byu isn't winning anyway.

It seems if both CU and BYU lose today, we control our own destiny to get to the Big XII Championship game. Is that correct? What would the relevant tiebreaker be in that scenario if we win today, CU and BYU lose, and then all 4 win next week with each finishing with 2 loses.

If we all finish at 7-2 it’s us and ASU.
