I made a fball schedule post, and thought about basketball schedule for the New Big 12.
Would anyone like to see the schedule done similar to Pac-10? Grouping in five regional pairs (our "twin" would be Missouri) and playing those games back-to-back on Thursday-Saturday:
ISU at KU
ISU at KSU
UT at ISU
A&M at ISU
... etc.
I know it could hinge on ESPN's weekly format, which currently has a Big 12 game on Wednesday (it could move to Thursday or one XII game per week could be on Wednesday). Big Monday would have an effect, too, but that game is "bumped" from the previous Saturday.
I think the P-10 did that for a travel/academic purpose, and that wouldn't work as well with the current setup. But I think it would make sense. It would also make it more likely the regional matchups come at the end of the cycle.
Or do you prefer a less-structured blind-draw system?
