During the high school games.

Jantz makes Joel Lanning and Kyle Starcevic (sp?) look like heisman candidates. Heck, even the back-up QB for SE Polk came in the game and could hit his targets.

15/29 for 133 yards today...those are middle school numbers.

Im going to go out on a limb here and say the Texas defense is a little bit more stout than Ankeny and SEP.

Stupid thread.

Jantz plays poorly under pressure. Texas knew this and they pressured him. And we didn't adjust our playcalling to make up for it.

It's different levels of football. You just can't compare like that. This is a really, really stupid thread. Even dumber than a lot of threads we see on here.

Obviously the premise was over your head.

We have high schoolers (no **** it's a different playing level) who are more fundamentally sound, then our 2nd year starter. These are 5 yard hot routes consistently over thrown and zone reads being read wrong.

Texas is not a good defensive team and we made them look stellar.

You're funny. We should get their running back too. Actually get their OC while we're at it.

We need a two headed qb. When SJ is off, JB needs to be given a chance. Seven points is "turrible". JB has won several more B12 games and SJ is the master of non conf.

Our receivers do nothing to help the QB/offense. Proof is we have a different guy every week be the "top receiver".

Agreed... Passing game is pathetic and it can not be blamed on just one position group. Just not much offensive talent compared to our big 12 counterparts.

The premise isn't over my head, more correctly my point is over your head. You literally started a thread saying that Jantz put up middle school numbers. Does that mean that a middle school quarterback would put up those same numbers in the Big 12? Obviously Jantz wasn't great today, but you can't possibly say that two high school quarterbacks are better because they played better against a high school defense than Jantz did against a defense loaded with potential NFL players.

Texas defense ranks third to last in the Big12 giving up 32 points per game. They held us to 7..

I dont think anyone would argue that our offense sucks but what point are you trying to make by saying some Iowa HS Quarterbacks put up good numbers against HS defenses?

If Jantz, Barnett, Richardson, Rohach, Bueker, or even Ryan Gent went and played QB last night for either of those teams I bet they'd put up good numbers too. Doesn't make them good Big 12 QBs.

It hurts when Lenz is out. I realize he's not great but he's the best WR we've got. That injury has been significant this season.

When the QB only completes 15 passes with an avg of 4 yards/catch, it is pretty tough to have a "top receiver"

OL struggles with any sort of line movement. Multiple times today they were double teaming 1 guy while another put pressure on QB. Very disappointed in that unit as a whole this year. Tons of mental mistakes through the games.

UT has gotten better all season. That 32 average is skewed heavily by the loss to OU. Also, we knew this game would be tough. They beat TT, who beat us by 13. They beat OSU who whipped our ***. We all wish we'd played much better. But we played a good 2-loss team.

Stop making sense. What will this do to those that must blame the QB and only the QB?

Let's face it, the QB's, WR's, and OL are all below average for big 12 standards. There is plenty of disappointment to go around. Should not pinned solely on Jantz, although he bears some of the responsibility. I don't think Barnett would have done any better in the passing game.

Comparing what you see in a HS game to this is utterly non-applicable.
