My vote:

1. Blythe
2. Lazard
3. Danielson
4. Henderson

I thought Blythe had more of an ability to dominate a game than Lazard did and if it wasn't for injuries his Jr. year and Chizik his Sr. year his yards and TDs would have been untouchable. Danielson was such a stud too. He may have been my favorite.

Did anyone know Blythe tore is ACL during his senior season and didn't find out until the NFL combine medical evaluations? I heard that on a podcast today and was shocked. It totally derailed his NFL chances.

Here is the pod if you want to hear it. Some good stuff on Bret Myer, McCarney, Iowa game, etc.

Steve Lester back in the late 80's was sick. He seemed to have all the potential as anyone I can remember. Did he get in trouble?

Blythe made things look easy. Pretty much it’s the only time I’ve seen Iowa State football offense look easy other than the Seneca days and sometimes last year. Butler is going to go mini-Megatron this year. Campbell should thank Paul Rhoads for Butler and Peavy being on campus when he showed up :)

He got hosed by the university. Had to take extra classes to maintain/regain eligibility, which he did, and they still wouldn't accept it. That's when Walden said 'eff it' and switched to the triple option.

I had Tracey Henderson #4 mostly because of that one monster season. I honestly forgot about Luther Blue (that’s old school!).

Butler will definitely move onto the list with a good year. It’s a shame we never got to see Meyer and Blythe at their best when they were upperclassmen.

Probably none of these.

Think you gotta give heavy consideration to Jim Doran, Iowa State's first team All-American wide receiver in 1950, although his junior year was probably better stats-wise.

That year, Doran obliterated the Big Seven Conference season receiving record by recording 689 yards on just 34 catches, breaking it by over 200 yards, (thus about 40-50% higher than the previous record).

His average was 20.2 yards per catch, which would've put him in the top 15 of NCAA receiving leaders in 2017. Pretty impressive, considering teams pass the ball a SMIDGEN more now than in 1950. (By comparison, Todd Blythe averaged 21.4 YPC in his best season of 2004.)

He played both ways for 11 years in the NFL, winning two titles, the last by catching the game winning TD in the 1953 championship game by frying the Browns' All-Pro DB to a crisp. Oh, he also made the Pro Bowl. Slacker.

Doran's game winning TD at about 24 minutes:

Story about the 1953 champ game:

Not sure anyone else can match that list of accolades.

Offense for ISU was easy in parts of the 90's too. Problem was that Troy Davis had about 5 minutes to rest because the other team scored so quickly.

I actually think the worst offense I've seen was under CPR.

Not sure who my best ISU WR is...if I were to go with most underrated that I can think of it'd be Austin Flynn.
