What's so sad is several ISU fans have mocked this pillar over the years, that, because we won't cross lines to win that we won't ever win. You know what happens when you place victory before honor? You become Baylor. Or Penn St. Or SMU. Just because UNC or UK can get away with victory before honor doesn't mean ISU ever would.

Baylor is considered way too liberal to be a Notre Dame of evangelicals (and now we teeter on the edge of the Cave). Liberty is what evangelicals dream of for a college.

Notre Dame isn't exactly a "bastion of conservatism", either - yet conservative Catholics also back it. I think I get what you're saying, but I'm not arguing from the perspective of potential fans - I'm arguing from the potential viewpoint of the school.
