Bad Taste

When I was a kid, I had to go to the neighbor's house overnight once because we had a snowstorm and dad couldn't get home from work (mom was in Hawaii at the time - lucky her). For dinner, they had liver and onions. I'd never tried it before, but it looked so nasty - like odd grey blobs sitting on the plate. I'm pretty sure they were massively overcooked, but they all chowed down on it like it was candy. Someone said to put lemon juice on it, which only made the taste worse (as if that was possible). Fortunately, they also had mac and cheese, so I didn't starve.

The other thing I would say was the worst is a green olive. I tried one once and spit it out as soon as my teeth broke the skin. Nasty! I don't like black olives either, but they're not that bad.

Like Bugs4cy mentioned, texture gets me more than taste. I cannot stand raw onion or tomato in most instances because of how it feels. I cook with onions all the time and like virtually any tomato product/dish that's been cooked. Some people say the same thing about mushrooms, regardless of raw or cooked, but that's one thing I love to eat: on salads, in casseroles, on pizza, whatever. When I cook dinner for friends who hate mushrooms, I usually chop them up real good so they don't know they're in the food. Obviously, if they had allergic reactions to mushrooms, I would never use them, though.

After a night at the bars during college summer break, I had the great idea of trying a sandwich my dad ate all the time. Limburger, onion, and mustard on rye. I was only able to get down one bite. Just awful.
