I kind of figured UNI would get ranked after the week they had. They beat us in 5, then they beat Nebraska for the first time ever in 4 (they hadn't won a set against kNU since 1977). Yet, they then lost to Kansas State, improving the Mildcats to just 7-6. UNI has beaten four ranked teams so far this season (ISU, USC, Missouri, Nebraska), the most of any D-1 squad.

Kansas dropped after losing to Santa Clara in Santa Clara in 5. All sets were close - largest margin was 3 points for either team.

Good to see ISU move up, if just a single spot. Didn't see any chatter about the Wichita State sweep - the score of the second set ended up 37-35. Now THAT is a battle! Good 5 set win against Creighton, also in Wichita.

all three of our opponents from last week are ranked. Good look for us.

Hali with DPOW and Avery with FPOW - both well-deserved. That 37 point set padded Hali's stats for sure, haha.

As in any sport, polls can be so nonsensical. We beat Creighton head-to-head on a neutral court, yet they are still ranked higher than we are ranked. Makes you think many who are voting simply don't actually pay attention to those details such as who beat who.

Creighton started the season ranked #9 and got as high as #7, whereas ISU was #30 to start. That's a lot of ground to make up, regardless of head-to-head competition.

Creighton's AA setter was on crutches for our game. And we also lost to an (at the time) unranked team in the same week. It's not black and white. Creighton still has more quality wins than we do and if their setter is expected to be back soon - they'll still be very strong and deserve to be ranked above us. Some voters are bad about not paying attention but I think it's silly to expect us to bounce over Creighton this week. I thought we deserved to pretty much stay put, and we did. We went into that game with a 10 place gap in rankings. That won't be erased in one week.

At 6'3" she not only can set but block and kill in the. Not to mention having 20 digs against ISU last year. I would guess they missed her big time.
