They come to Ames and they will get beat by 10 points alone by the crowd.
I think OSU & OU attendance for basketball is greatly hurt by the OKC Thunder. When you've got a NBA team within 90 miles of your campus....and their a good NBA team, $$$ people are going with the Pro's.That crowd tonight at OSU was basically students & the Stillwater locals.
We eat our own too. Damn lame student section.Iowa State always seems to have room to rip on other teams for poor fan attendance. It's like our calling card now as fans.
LOL a state of 4 million can't fill a 13,000 seat arena because there's a pro game (17,000 cap) going on 75 miles away? 4,000,000- 13,000+17,000 hmmmm.
It divides people's time and interest. Fans get caught up in a successful NBA team....stop following college team. Not too hard to believe IMO>

I was surprised how many no shows there were...What was old arena like? Didn't it only hold like 7,000 and that is why they expanded it? The place is still loud, but imagine what it would be like if it were sold out?
BTW it was Eddie Sutton Night and less than half were in the seats..That was sad...Eddie looked really old..he was one foot in the grave, one foot in the arena.[/QUOTE]
I was stunned and even a bit saddened at how old and frail he looked tonight. I would be surprised if he is still around in a couple of years from now. I hope he's not in too much pain.
When I opened this thread I took a mental guess of how many replies before we saw what I was thinking. I guessed 5 and was disappointed when I saw #6 on your post. Then I realized that post #6 is the fifth reply.Dance marathon, no doubt.
