I'm flying down Friday from DSM. There's 2 of us going to the ASU game. Going solo to Tucson as my friend has to work. Going to hit Saguaro NP on Sunday for sure!

ASU: Section H1, Row 34 (thanks, @jdubs)
UA: Section 112, Row 41. Hope there are some Cyclones nearby!

Testifying
Looking forward to some high 60s, maybe touch 70 degree weather.
Leave the winter coats in the vehicles at the airport, people.

Awesome. The Phoenix Cyclone Club is doing events Friday night and potentially Saturday as well so we didn’t want to duplicate efforts. Their Friday event I believe is at Bogeys (6463 S. Rural Rd. Tempe), but I’ll pass along exact details.

Latest posted on the Phoenix club's Facebook page a few mins ago. Besides their gamewatch HQ (Bogey's) on Fri night, they'll be doing a post-game after ASU at the Culinary Dropout NW of campus (since I think Bogey's has other alumni clubs filling the place up on Sats). FYI - Culinary takes reservations if it somehow can't handle all of us just walking in.

Don't forget Man-Man Monte hopefully will get in a few play mins. for the Suns that night hosting the Wizards downtown at Footprint.

Then note the Tucson brewery pre-game See y'all at both ...

Friday Night (1/24): 5PM - Whenever
Bogeys 6463 S. Rural Rd. Tempe, AZ 85283.
We have the backroom reserved. We will certainly spill out of that room and that's ok, it will be first come first served for Cyclones and regulars in the main restaurant and patio.
_____________________________________________________________
Saturday Post-game (1/25)
Culinary Dropout 149 S Farmer Ave, Tempe, AZ 85281
Nothing reserved, first come first served. Has decent parking availability, 5 minute drive from arena, 20 minute walk. If Culinary Dropout gets to capacity, there is another restaurant across the street (Lodge Sasquatch Kitchen) Cyclones can head to.
Unfortunately we are NOT doing anything pre-game, the early tip time was too difficult to work around. (ASU doesn't allow tailgating for basketball, which is only a slightly sore subject for me)
________________________________________________________________
Monday (1/27): Pre-game event Tucson 5 PM - 7:30 PM
Barrio Brewing Co. 800 E 16th St, Tucson, AZ 85719
We have the 'Old Brewery' Room reserved, capacity of 50. If we spill out, first come first served in the main restaurant/patio. Special shoutout to Chris King for the very helpful location suggestion!

From the University of Arizona:

Today's flash sale includes discounted tickets to the Colorado, Iowa State and Texas Tech games. Tickets start at $40 for the Colorado and Texas Tech games and start at $45 for the Iowa State game.

Apparently they haven't learned the lesson from UNLV/Allegient Stadium and KU/Arrowhead about how to extort from Iowa State fans.

If you can, make time for some outdoor adventures in Tucson. I'd recommend hiking in Sabino Canyon and Saguaro National Park. There are two units (west and east). Personally I prefer the west unit. The Hugh Norris Trail is pretty incredible as it winds through some crazy Saguaro forests. Feels very much like the Looney Tunes southwestern landscape in real life.
Does golfing Quarry Pines count?

Sure. I don't really golf, so I can't comment on Quarry Pines.

Googled the location. When you're done, hit The Parish for food and drinks. Probably the best Bloody Mary I've found in Tucson (Che's is right up there with it) and awesome Cajun food (for being outside of Louisiana).

Update to this: The Club was able to secure a pre-game location as well. Yucca Tap Room: 29 W Southern Ave, Tempe, AZ 85282 8AM - 11 AM. They agreed to open the kitchen early, hoping Cyclones fans come out strong and fill the place up. No menu on the website, apparently burgers, burritos, pork rolls etc..

Playing two road games in 3 days is a rariety and I think is going to be very hard. First, because we are rankd 3rd in the country, we will get ASU's best shot in their gym, I think it will be a tough game. But then have to go to Arizona on Monday. Is this their biggest home game yet this year? They will be way up for it too. I have been to games there against Washington and Oregon State, they have a very good and enthusiastic crowd. I would feel better about that game if Arizona had a road game on Saturday, but they don't, they are at home against Colorado. My hope is we play our bench enough on Saturday so we have something in the tank for a very tough game on Monday. Would love to go 2-0 on this trip, but 1-1 I can live with.

They played 3 games in 3 days in Maui. I think they can handle 2 in 3 days. We may lose both, but it will be because we can't shoot or don't get to the line. Fatigue is my last concern with this group.
not the same, there is a difference between neutral games and road games.

They played Duke at home back on Nov 22. Duke won 69-55

I think they will beat ASU by 15+. UCF even won at ASU (95-89). A win on Monday would be a great win and would be a huge boost for a 1 seed. But that is easier said than done. A win vs ASU + a competitive loss to AZ would be considered a good road trip

Agree that realistically, a split would be a good outcome. Hope the people with unreasonable expectations on here realize it so we can avoid the meltdown. It's possible this team goes 0-2. I don't think it will happen and I would say we're more likely to go 2-0, but 1-1 is not bad with these games.

Arizona is a tourney team (and has the talent of an upper seed) and ASU is fighting for the tourney. We'll get the best shot from both. We are the hunted now.

I had to Google Map it due to being unfamiliar with the state of Arizona, but it's ~2 hrs between Tucson and Tempe. So it won't be an overwhelming bus ride for our players, but 2 legit conference opponents in 2 days is tough. TJ treats this like a business trip, and I think we play like a top team and go 2-0 and head back to Ames. I really think that WVU game was a well timed wake up call.

Will it be tough? Sure! But this is the a great learning experience for the team going into March.
