DENVER -- If a day or two of rest doesn't significantly improve the soreness in Aramis Ramirez's left shoulder, the next step could be a cortisone shot that sidelines the Cubs' cleanup hitter for at least two more games during a particularly tough stretch of opponents.
The Cubs don't have a day off until Aug. 24, after a stretch of games that includes three at home this week against Philadelphia and concludes with four games against the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
Ramirez said he hasn't been pain-free since returning July 6 from two months on the DL recovering from the dislocation.
