Dan Barreiro is a pretty big time radio host in Minneapolis. He has some big connections with the Wolves including Flip and Glenn Taylor. He just said he has heard if the offer is legit, Fred would take it.

    Let the fun continue!

Also, none of us like this news, but don't ***** about me sharing it. Everyone should be able to hear what is out there.

This situation is one of those situations where I think it's too obvious to be true.

    Why would you share this!

Honestly, I am convinced Fred isn't going anywhere until we accomplish some of the things we seem to be on the cusp of. Regular season title, Final Four, World Domination

Dan Barreiro is just another shock jock that has no idea what Iowa State is all about and what this job means to Fred.

If I win the Powerball of like 400million. I'm donating to give Fred a contract for 25 years so we can shut all this up

Just me personally, but among home town hero at ISU, UCLA, Minnesota Gophers, Boston Celtics*, Twolves…twolves is easily the second least attractive job. If I were in Fred's shoes, I'd either be at UCLA already or head coach at ISU till retirement.

*since Boston was very clearly one of the least talented NBA teams when offered, not that it's not a prestigious coaching job

NBA executives don't share their confidential information with radio hosts. If they did, they wouldn't have those jobs.

Considering he's very close with the GM, who happens to be very close to Fred, I'll take his word over you. LOL

Barreiro has Flip on all the time, but I'm not aware of any connection with Freddie. If Paul Allen made a statement like this, I'd be much more concerned.

The TWolves are a complete joke. They will be looking for a new coach, as Adelman makes no sense as a coach for a younger team, and he and Flip seem to finally be realizing that (along with his wife's health issues). Plus, Love will be gone in a year via FA or sooner via trade. Very unlikely to get a draft pick in the top 10. Rubio can't shoot... If Freddie were really interested in this job, he'd be best off to wait til they hit bottom and possibly accumulate some talent through future drafts. That might be at the time his twins are out of h.s.

I don't see how anyone could stand the egos in the NBA, but I'm sure recruiting is a major pain of college coaching. Freddie may be NBA-bound at some point, but I don't see why he'd take the Wolves job at this time.
