This is so dumb. Who on earth could've watched the ISU-Iowa game and come to the conclusion that "ISU was the far better team?" You guys have to stop this crap. Analytics is not football. It is a tool. Numbers can be manipulated to support whatever outcome you desire. But this one was obvious. Iowa is better than ISU this season.
Then why does vegas use analytics? They don't set the lines based on who they think the better team is, and they are obviously more right than wrong otherwise they wouldn't make money.

They don't set lines to be right or wrong. They do it to balance betting. If they get hit on one side, they move because they don't care who wins as long as they do.

Anyone have an ap with games beyond this week?

Go ahead and hang that analytics banner if it makes you feel better.

Why even keep score? We could just see who Vegas favors and call it good.

This line will tighten but it will still be one of those interesting “Top 10 team is underdog vs unranked team” games. Public will be on OSU heavy probably.

I would not touch this line until seeing how we look in this game.

Analytics are great, but the game is played on the field. ISU was better on offense AND defense, but it still wasn’t enough to overcome how much better Iowa’s special teams were.

It takes a complete team to win championships and we are not a complete team.

The analytics continue to love ISU, which I'm sure is why Vegas continues to love ISU.
It makes sense. They are basically an average punter away from being 5-0.
The Iowa game was the most lopsided loss, but when you look at the stats and analytics, ISU was the far better team.

This chart really highlights this.

Well, this chart was timely! (re: the Purdue-Iowa game)

I'd probably expect ISU to beat 3 of the 4 Big 10 schools in the top 10 right now. Rankings seem a little out-of-whack still, but you have to put some of those teams there until they lose.

Updated for week 7. The Iowa Wisconsin game will definitely be 3-6 final score.
Nebraska beats Iowa by 2 scores, book it.

The issue with using this metric is that it omits special teams. It also omits TO tendencies on both sides of the ball, assuming they are random/luck.
