Parker Hesse was in on the first defensive snap of the game. Iowa shuffles in DL a lot more than is typical, I think. So just because you don't "start" doesn't mean you're not getting just as many, if not more snaps.

Main point, coming into AJE's sophomore year did ISU have another DE in addition to Bailey who you think should've been on the All-Iowa roster instead of AJE? Did ISU have another DE who had stats/accomplishments relative to AJE similar to what Golston has relative to McDonald?

Twins post jogged my memory. It was Anthony Nelson. Hawk fans were saying Anthony Nelson was a lock. Who are you saying was better going into AJE's soph year? Nelson or AJE?

Nelson had 30+ tackles and 7.5 sacks the previous year. So why would you pick Epenesa over him?
AJE played pretty sparingly as a true freshman. When he was out there, it was clear what a beast he was. Even with limited snaps he made B1G All-Freshman team. Pretty impressive.

Lol soooo pretty much exactly what I said about McDonald. Who actually had better stats as a FR than Epenesa.

Wasn't McDonald a starter and pretty much every down player? I know he played LB at the beginning of the season.
I see why your team isn’t the most accurate now. You only watched 2 ISU games all year. During the UNI game they changed to Vance, Rose, Spears at LB and McDonald transitioned to his more comfortable pass rush specialist AJE role. Took him a few weeks to get back acclimated to the spot but really took off the second half of the year.

That's not what I said.

Is being named first team freshman AA better than honorable mention AA?
Is being named an actual AA compared to the best players (P5) better than being an honorable mention AA for MAC teams? Yes, absolute being an actual AA is better

No idea what you're trying to say there.

As I told State, WM is really good and has loads of potential.

I'll give credit for Goodson having a very good game against Minnesota. You will not see me ranting and raving for him racking up 26 yards on 5 carries against Wisconsin, or 16 yards on 3 carries against ISU, or 35 yards on 8 carries against Penn State. He also had a huge fumble in the Penn State game that hurt Iowa big time. Spare me the stud comment.

He was a good freshman RB last year. But you're comparing him to the literal best freshman RB in the nation last year.
I believe that was Sargent with the big fumble.
