We should have @brentblum confirm, but I believe We Will was strongly encouraged by Iowa State to not take money from a casino after everything that happened this past spring.
I don’t find the cash to be the issue. Using student athletes to promote your casino at events seems to be the bigger issue in my mind. If the athletes aren’t allowed to partake in gambling, why are they promoting it?
Should someone under 21 be restricted from promoting alcohol producers?
First off, I would sure take it and I hope we start to get involved with more corporate partnerships.

Thats great but when everyone else is....Is Iowa State going to somehow pitch in the $500K to match? You dont think the rest of the country is taking this kind of money? Hell the other school in our state is, and they were just involved in the gambling issue. No one cares, money is money, and you get it any way you can. If you have some kind of moral clause against taking money from one or more sources than either you dont run this kind of thing or you have to be ok when you cant keep up with your peers. Hell if anything it at least helps make up for the BS their business caused our schools.
I would hope the NIL is not turning away huge investments like this, but then again we refuse to allow beer sales so...

I think in Jamie's mind taking money from a casino is equivalent to taking money from the Sinaloa Cartel.
Then he cant complain when we continue to fall behind everyone else. Because it is obvious no one else is turning away this kind of cash.
Casino made a lot of money off the hoks last year from people betting the "over"...
To me that is just a BAD look. Any way you look at it the Casino is giving money to the athletes. REALLY surprised that the NCAA has not made that unacceptable (on second thought it is the NCAA - nevermind).
