Everyone on this team sucks no one should take that last shot.

Stu should take it, he has the height to get a good look. Plus he had the best body language on the bench and Everyone else isn't trying hard enough

It really seems to me like Monte is playing "hero ball" too much for my liking at the end of close games this season. You've got to come up with a better shot than that in that last possession.

Oh well, tough loss, but time to move on. This conference is just an absolute beast this season. This is one game where just one more rebound, one less turnover, etc., could have made the final difference. One concern I've been having this season is seeing how many times we go up for a rebound with just one arm and have it either be snatched away by the other team or have it go out of bounds against us. That happened in at least one critical possession last night.

End of Regulation

Plenty of time to call a time out and set a play up. Or how about the screen and roll at the hight post between Niang and Morris? Have we forgotten how successful that has been with giving either one of them a shot or if they are double teamed, there is usually someone in the corner open? I also did not care for the smiles on some of the ISU players' faces when the game was still in doubt in overtime. I am beginning to think several players have given up on this season. Also, as much as I love Freddie, he left Prohm with no bench players.

Or just bounce off our hands, or through our hands, straight to the other team.

Re: End of Regulation

Gee read is hard. There's a thread "9 seconds left in regulation"

But that's different. This one is END of Regulation. There was still 9 seconds in the other one! The end is the end! If there's 9 seconds left then its not the end! C'mon man!

I feel as if most people are fine with Monte taking the last shot. It's just frustrating when you know his mid range jumper is going to go in more times than not. And he decides to settle for a contested three..

Last shot in regulation

Don't know if anyone has commented on this. Why didn't they do something to get a shot that went in? All they had to do is do something to get an easy dunk. I'm tired of Morris not shooting 100% on last second shots.

Also I noticed sometime Prohm squats on the sideline probably preventing the players from seeing him call a play or the refs noticing him when he complains about a call.

The worst is that sometimes players smile or laugh and you can tell its bc they don't even want to win. Probably because they don't like ISU.

The biggest problem I see with the last shot in regulation was Monte practically walking the ball up the floor with 9 seconds. This allowed the defense to get back into position.

Why not push the ball up the floor, make the defense scramble and see what unfolds. Monte's a fantastic PG in reading those situations.

Matt was wide open 12 feet to Monte's right for a catch and shoot as well.

Yes, everyone knows that dribbling around senselessly and heaving up a contested 3, with 4 other legit threats on the court, when all you really need is 1 point/free throw, makes perfect sense.

I recall in 7th grade basketball, they also taught us to stand and watch the ball after the shot instead of boxing out too.

I think the big mistake was Monte not leaving himself .5 seconds instead of .3 seconds to try and attempt the put back.

He should know that time situation better.

And **** those guys for smiling. Jerks... stop enjoying playing a game guys! You ****ers ruined go4fan's night...

This. When this was live, I was most furious. In some kind of twisted vindication to validate my fury, had he hurried just a teeny tiny bit more, the 2nd chance would of counted for a win.

A rare string of bad decisions for Monte.

While true, the real issue is with the bench guys interlocking arms towards the end. It is the sports equivalent to praying, basically saying you think it will take a prayer for the shot to go in. Montee sees this and it messes with his mind that the bench doesn't have faith in him making the shot. If the bench guys just sit there like the last shot is no big deal I bet that final shot goes in 100% of the time.

But just like the smiling players they probably do it because they don't like ISU.
