Sirens going off in Ames
Sirens going off in Ames
Doesn't Ames blow the siren for a severe tstorm warning? Maybe that's it.
Sounds like it may have been for the wind
Siren for high wind? You guys are high class.
Sounds like a poor choice on their part. They're just trying to keep people safe but it's silly. If you use the siren for non-emergencies, people will ignore it and cause more harm than any benefits you've gained by using it for "high winds"
Just about lost the trampoline.
Just about lost the trampoline.
It does have a couple sandbags on it, but it definitely moved a few feet this evening.I hope you aren't my neighbor. If they ever lose their trampoline, it is going right into my house--it sits about 15ft from my house.
Even if 'ignore' isnt the right word, i think a tornado is a higher level of 'seek shelter' urgency than just the high winds, and it waters down the effect of the sirens.Sounds like a poor choice on their part.
