Rewatched the games. The Iowa State women played very well as we know. Commentators were impressed and talked glowingly of them. I loved their rotation - every time a substitution was allowed they rotated in a preset order so that no one got more playing time than anyone else.
Everyone played well. All shot pretty well. Joens, of course, was the most impressive to me. But the overall hustle and effort was outstanding. The team defense gave opponents fits. I was particularly impressed with how Diew played - much better than what I was initially expecting and her length helped tremendously on the defense inside against the taller players.
i was also impressed on how quickly they adapted to the rules of the game. Several times their opponents had baskets or shots not allowed for not taking the ball back to the three-point line. I do not think the Cyclone women had even one call for this.
