I wanted to list for sale four basketball tickets. The price I was going to ask was $10 per ticket thinking that a family would be interested at that price

When listing, I found that I could not list them for less than $25 per ticket. Face value of the ticket is $19.12.

I sent an email to the ticket office. This is what I wrote -

I was listing tickets for sale through my account and Ticketmaster will not allow tickets to be sold for less than $25 each

I wanted to list them for $10 with the idea that at that price they would be affordable for a family

Why are we discouraging families by requiring the higher prices?

This is the response I received -

Thank you for your email. We have a cap on Ticket Exchange being able to be posted at around 60% of face value of the ticket. We evaluate those levels each year and have lowered the each of the past few years. We'll take your request into consideration when determining the minimum price of resale tickets. Let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you for your continued support of ISU Athletics!

If the cap is 60% of the face value, shouldn't I have been able to list the ticket at $12?

I’ve run into the same thing. I’m just putting mine on stubhub.

Just looked at Stubhub and the total for two tickets @ $6 each is $20.15.

20% commission + service fee.
