Artists or bands become eligible for nomination 25 years after releasing their first commercial recording. Among this year’s 14 Nominees, eight are appearing on the ballot for the first time: Bad Company, The Black Crowes, Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Maná, Outkast, and Phish.

Not sure how it's possible that Chubby Checker and Joe Cocker are first year eligible. Either way, both should be no brainers.

As mentioned by others The Black Crows and to a lesser extent Bad Company are seriously underrated.

Though the catalogue is not huge because of other projects, Soundgarden deserves consideration. Is Chris Cornell already in as an individual?
