So, when I was a kid.... it was rare that a player ever went on a disabled list for any period of time. Pitchers would throw complete games frequently. Players would very rarely ever get a day off.

Are todays players this soft? I get that they make way more money and they get handled with kid gloves.... but man, they are not nearly as tough as they used to be.

Yup, Bert Blyleven threw 60 complete games. But only two or three from that era threw 98. Now it’s all power, with 7 innings max. And Tommy John‘s a common result.

You see a lot more Tommy John in the youth game too because of throwing is taught.

Twins are 8-1 against the AL East.
Baltimore were among the favorites in the AL East heading into the season. Now they are looking to be sellers.

Twins are now at 33 consecutive innings without allowing a run. It’s a franchise record and is stealing the thunder from their 13 consecutive win and 18 hit performance tonight. The Twins are just playing incredible ball right now. And all that without Correa and Buxton.

Blyleven, great pitcher! Not surprised he got 2 World Series titles. I am surprised his first was with Pittsburg. What was his record in "79, with the Pirates?

Glad to see he got his 2nd w/ the Twins, in 1987.

The nationally televised game on Saturday with Wainwright doing the color was a fun listen. I know today’s game was by the homer broadcast, but Schroeder is painful to listen to. One cliche after another.

I can’t either. Selfishly, I hope they’re atleast competent and in the race through the summer. Gives me something to have on in the garage until football season. I really struggle with their bench depth and I absolutely do not trust Ty France.
Have I ever told you guys how much I love Ty France???
