2024 Firework Purchasing - Missouri?

I've run out of my supply of fireworks purchased probably 3 years ago and it's time to reload. I have always made the run down to Missouri in the past because of their better selection and (at least this used to be the theory) their looser restrictions on types of fireworks that can be sold. I want the good stuff, the "big bangers."

Does anyone know if this is still the case since Iowa opened up sales here? Am I going to get the same exact selection going to a tent here in Iowa that I would just across the border in Missouri? Or do the Missouri stores still have better options that are not allowed to be sold in Iowa? Help me out if you are "in the know."

Thanks!

I haven’t been to Missouri for fireworks in a long time. Seems most of the tents in Iowa have all I need. Big, loud singles with tubes, massive cakes, etc.

Now…I may make a run to Eagleville, just off I-35, anyway to visit the dispensary there now though, but that is a different topic.

Yeah, I think I'll head down this Wednesday but if I don't see much different any longer I'll know I can be happy enough in Iowa.

Sheldon, just over the border in Eagleville, MO. HUGE selection, great prices. The employees have worked there for years (most of them) and are really good at suggesting items fitting what you describe to them. Definitely worth the drive. We go down every couple of years for restocking.
We've looked at several of the pop-ups in the communities surrounding Ames, and came away unimpressed.

The firework stand market has become totally oversaturated. No way these places are making money.
I was saying the other day I don't possibly see how they work, there's one on every other corner and there's never anybody at them. Then they had half price signs up at least a week ago.

I live in a town of around 15,000 people and I bet there are a dozen stands within city limits. The bigger ones may make a little bit but the small ones can't possibly make enough to make it worth it.

Most of the stands around the DSM metro have a really solid snakes and sparklers assortment so I assume they have you covered.

Yeah I thought I could cap it off with some solid smoke bombs but didn't know if they'd have my favorite color, ugh.
